Hello world :D

Though EOYs are round the corner, and the stress starts kicking in right now, it doesn't give us the rights to munch on bags of chips or popcorn everyday, or indulge in bottles after bottles of sweetened drinks :D Let's all start eating healthy food now (and forever). Come on, who wants to fall ill now?

Here are some really awesome tips from the Health Promotion Board (HPB) on ways to ensure an adequate intake of nutrients:

1. Enjoy a variety of foods the pyramid way (refer to the picture below :D)
2. Achieve and maintain a normal weight
3. Eat a sufficient amount of grains, especially whole grains
4. Eat more fruit and vegetables every day
5. Choose and prepare foods with less fat, especially saturated fat
6. Choose and prepare foods with less salt and sauces
7. Choose foods and beverages with less sugar
8. Water is also extremely important; you should be drinking at least 6-8 glasses of fluid (1.5-2.0 litres) a day

Do look out for the fabulous posters that we will be putting up in the school canteen soon! Let's all play a part, and be a healthy teen today!
